This week on Appy Hour, we explored accounting tech and business insights with Helina Patience from Entreflow. She shared her journey in building a cloud accounting firm, highlighting her innovative approach to supporting startups and driving growth.
A Look into Entreflow
Helina is located in Victoria, Canada! She started the company in 2015 after working in the industry for a long time and feeling like it wasn’t easy to make an impact for small businesses and their growth. They have 23 employees across the country and clients all over the world in Canada, US, South America, Asia and more!
Internal
Helina is using a wide range of amazing apps! We discussed how she incorporates G Suite, Zapier, and Ignition, along with Asset Accountant for asset management and Humi for human resources. For communication, she relies on Slack, both with clients and internally. She also shared how they use Caseware for tax compilations with QBO, AutoEntry for PDF conversions, Fireflies for meeting recordings and transcriptions, Saasant for data entry, HubSpot for CRM, Rewind for backups, and ClickUp for task management.
External
We also had the chance to learn about her preferred external apps, which included a variety of tools for different business needs. For accounting software, she uses QBO and Xero, while Syft and Fathom support practice management. For A/P and A/R, she relies on Dext, Hubdoc, and Plooto. Cash Flow Frog, Uncat, and Avalara help with tax management, and Synder and Typeform offer additional security and form functionality for payroll processes. ApprovalMax, her go-to for approval management, stands out with its workflow and assignment options, allowing a second signer to step in when the primary approver is unavailable.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us, with a special shoutout to Helina Patience and the Entreflow team for sharing their expertise and enthusiasm for accounting tech innovation. We’re fortunate to have such passionate leaders in our community. Looking forward to seeing you at the next Appy Hour!
