Sherrell Martin joined us on July 25th for a Firm Spotlight and it was a BLAST! Sherrell landed in accounting by accident! She got tired of working around the clock and not feeling rewarded, so she started her own business!
A little bit about Nitram Financial Solutions
Nitram Financial Solutions was originally called “Empowered To Thrive”, Sherrell rebranded after 3 years to Nitram which is Martin (her last name) spelled backward! She has been in business for 10 years. Nitram is made up of 3 employees, they have 25 clients and their Niche is Interior Design. Sherrell also started “Rock The Books”, which is a certification training program to help people learn how to be Bookkeepers. It is going live this fall!
Internal tech stack overview
Sherrell’s internal stack is definitely one to check out! She is using Google & Office 365, Front, 17 Hats, Book Like A Boss, Canva, Airtable, Zapier, and Loom/Scribe. Sherrell is combining Loom and Scribe together which is brilliant. Scribe is taking screenshots of wherever you click on your screen, and Loom is video recording. When she is recording processes she opens both Chrome extensions, as she is explaining how to do something Scribe is taking screenshots of where to click and Loom is recording the process. She then takes the PDF that Scribe creates, edits the wording, and adds it to the video with links. This is helpful because it gives people the chance to watch the video, read the pdf, or see the images helping all of the different learners out there.
External tech stack overview
Sherrell’s external stack is also one to check out! She is using QBO and a little Xero, Gusto & QBOP, Keeper, Hubdoc, Live Flow, Houzz Pro, and Melio. They are using Melio for bill pay because it can be connected to QBO. Not only is it free to use but it can also be accessed inside and outside of QBO. This is making ACH payments easy for clients and their payments are processed in 2-3 business days!
In this episode, we covered other apps as well and how she utilizes them. Be sure to watch this episode so you can learn how this tech stack works!
